Today the team finished the 4th stage of the American Solar Challenge.  Quantum continued to run well and we were able to increase our lead to over 10 hours.  Tomorrow is the last day of the race and we expect to cross the finish line in St. Paul between 12-1:30p.  Check out highlights from Day 6 below.

Today the team is traveling towards La Crosse, WI for the final stage stop to spend the night. After almost a week of traveling on the road, we only have one more day until we cross the finish line in St. Paul, MN. This past week we have enjoyed hearing about your sightings of us/Quantum on the road, especially those with photos attached. We still encourage everyone who sees us within the next few days to keep posting photos to our facebook or twitter – we love seeing them!

In fact, not only will certain posted sightings be pinned onto the map that is on our homepage, our favorites will be able to receive various cool prizes such as posters, t-shirts, Quantum postcards, and stickers!

We would like to thank The Detroit Print Shop, Next Day Flyers, and Middleton Printing for their support and donation of the prizes you can win!

At the Big House

Day three of the race was certainly one of the most exciting for us as we were right in our hometown of Ann Arbor by the Big House. Not only did numerous family, alumni, and fans come out to see us, the President of the University, Mary Sue Coleman, made an appearance as well. We enjoyed her company and enjoyed the cookies she brought – they were delicious! Today we started out with about a three hour lead at Black & Veatch on Green Court and are looking forward to going to Kalamazoo, MI.  Thank you to everyone that came out last night and this morning, we’re happy to know that we have such a large base of support back in our home town as we continue onto St. Paul to defend the national title, we couldn’t do this without you!

Yesterday was the first day of the American Solar Challenge where all the teams drove from Rochester, NY to Erie, PA. All the teams started from the Rochester Institute of Technology’s campus and arrived at the Tom Ridge Environmental Center for the Stage Stop. Even after the treacherous downpours of rain that we experienced in the morning, we’re keeping strong and are still in the lead as we reached the Mansfield, OH control stop. Now, we’re in Ohio for the night until we can be back in Ann Arbor for the stage stop tomorrow! Keep checking our twitter/facebook for more frequent updates!

Check out this recap video of Day One!
