Michigan wins the 2010 Formula Sun Grand Prix and clinches pole position for the American Solar Challenge!

Today at 4pm Michigan and Bochum (1st and 2nd place) agreed to pull off the track 1 hour early since their final places had been solidified. At the time, Infinium was leading Bochum by 20 laps and Minnesota by 50 laps. Michigan and Bochum were the only teams to travel over 200 miles all three days which is a great accomplishment. The final standings for all the teams can be found here.
Following the finish, all the teams gathered for a group photo and a brief awards ceremony. The race crew has enjoyed the time spent at the Texas Motorsport Ranch, but they are now ready to move north for hopefully cooler weather. Tonight the team will enjoy dinner with the Michigan Alumni Club in Dallas, then head North to Tulsa tomorrow morning.
While everyone is excited about winning FSGP, race crew is looking forward to the bigger challenge of winning the American Solar Challenge.

Congrats team! Let’s hope ASC goes as smoothly as FSGP!
Well Done! Let’s keep the the ’08 trend going (in fact beat our record for time finished ahead of 2nd place). Go Blue!
Congrats! Let’s have some fun and win asc!
Congratulations guys! Keep the car running smoothly, and Infinium will do the rest in ASC. I can’t wait to see the Wilson Cup back in AA again this fall.
Go Blue!
3 teams from the Big Ten in the top four: Michigan, Minnesota, and Northwestern. The Taiwanese team, Kaohsiung, finished strong. I still hope Kentucky and Western Michigan are allowed to compete, on a provisional basis. And Oregon State on a popsicle basis.
That’s a great picture! I’m proud of all of you! I can’t wait to follow the race!
